The Kaplan MCAT 2013 and Beyond!
The MCAT Exam is changing in 2013. Help! I need a plan!
As we embark on the start of another school year, pre-health students in classes and libraries are hearing rumors of the MCAT changing in 2013 and have questions in regards to the test and their own preparation. I am here to fill you in on both and let’s start with what is changing on the exam. Officially from the AAMC website:
“The Writing Sample section will be removed from the current MCAT in 2013. If you plan to take the MCAT in 2013 or 2014, the current exam will be modified and the Writing Sample section will no longer be part of the exam. In its place, a voluntary, unscored trial section will be added starting in January 2013.”
This means that the dreaded Writing Sample section between Verbal Reasoning and Biological Sciences is gone! Keeping this in mind, here at Kaplan we are taking all of this into consideration to update our MCAT course to meet the dynamic needs of you, the student. Now the three traditional sections of the MCAT (Physical Sciences, Verbal Reasoning, and Biological Sciences) are getting more attention than ever.
Pre-Health students are busy people. Between classes, research, volunteering, extra-curricular activities, and trying to maintain somewhat of a social life, you are constantly on the go. The students spoke and we listened. We are providing the most study-on-the-go resources, including mobile-enabled instruction, review notes, lesson book, full-length tests, and Kaplan’s exclusive mobile flashcard app! This means you are going to have access to customizable On Demand instruction. Now you will have complete flexibility to integrate MCAT prep the way you want it into your hectic schedule anytime and anywhere, with a full range of mobile –enabled study products.

Now some are probably wondering but wait, “I still want to take a traditional class, will I get access to the mobile enabled products?” Yes! That is the beauty of it, you will get mobile – access in each one of our unique Kaplan course options. To top it all off, say you need to miss one of your Kaplan classes because you need to study for a class for school, not to worry, we offer live and online make ups at your convenience so you will never miss a beat.
To top it all off, students have access to dozens of 2-hour Flex science workshops and 90-minute Test Review sessions taught by the best MCAT instructors in the country in a live, online format.
